Khairy Jamaluddin, the Health Minister for Malaysia, said on Twitter on 23 November that Singapore and Malaysia officials were conducting a dry run at the Johor Causeway.
They were conducting the dry run in preparation for the land Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL), according to Jamaluddin.
In his tweet, he said that he hopes the opening of the border, which is very much anticipated by both countries, will be successful.
Gan Kim Yong optimistic
Gan Kim Yong, Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, announced previously that both sides are working closely to finalise the operational details.
He said on 20 November during a Multi-Ministry Taskforce press conference that he is optimistic about the land VTL being launched at the end of November.
Johor’s Chief Minister Hasni Mohammad also claimed that the land VTL would start on 29 November.
