S’PORE POLICE: MORE THAN 200,000 CCTVS TO BE INSTALLED ACROSS S’PORE

The police said that more than 200,000 police cameras will be installed across Singapore by 2030.

There are currently 90,000 in place.

The CCTVs have helped the police solve more than 5,000 cases, with the cameras being instrumental in solving crimes related to loanshark harassments and thefts.

The cameras also helped to control physical crimes as well, said Kenneth Nge, the Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police on 7 October.

Since their installation began in 2012, police cameras have aided officers to solve more than 5,000 cases.
