The defendant is a 21-year-old from Malaysia. He is 21 years old and is a local permanent resident. The defendant was studying in a secondary school when he started his crime and continued on to his poly days. It is understood that he has now graduated.
He secretly filmed the bottoms of women’s skirts and changing clothes 21 times in a year. The victims included three teachers and four female classmates.
Between October 2017 and July 2018, he secretly photographed the upskirts of three teachers and two other women.
After the defendant discovered that female classmates often changed clothes in the classroom in 2018, he decided to hide his mobile phone in the classroom and take pictures.
Investigation revealed that the defendant has been filming obscene materials since 2017. In September 2017, when the defendant was at a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant in Bishan Park, he pointed his mobile phone at two female students sitting opposite and photographed the bottoms of their skirts.
He faced a total of 21 charges of insulting women’s modesty and one charge of possessing obscene videos. The Malaysian is facing at least 10 charges, and the rest will be taken into consideration by the judge when the sentence is handed down.
