A Singaporean woman who is suffering from cancer, Rosanah Sahar, fell critically ill while in Saudi Arabia completing her pilgrimage, and can’t return home.
Her niece posted a public appeal for donations on Facebook on 2 June, hoping to raise enough money to cover the medical fees and bring her home.
Her niece, Yaya HQuinn Kiddo, shared that her aunt was cleared to go on her pilgrimage trip to Saudi Arabia after some time of planning, but during the pilgrimage, she developed a cough and fever, lasting several days.
She also started seeing bruises on her upper limbs, and as the days went by, she started bleeding from her nose as her condition got worse.
She visited a clinic in Saudi Arabia for a blood test and her platelet count was found to be low, and she was then given some Panadol and cough syrup before the doctor discharged her.
After her pilgrimage was over, she was at the airport boarding her flight home to Singapore when her nose started bleeding again profusely.
A flight attendant and medical team attended to her and told her that she can’t take the flight home, and she was then admitted to the hospital and discharged after one night of staying there.
She tried to board another flight back to Singapore the next morning but started vomiting blood as she was waiting.
She was then conveyed to King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah in critical condition and warded in the cardiac care unit.
Her 29-year-old son, Fathir Fauzan, flew over to Jeddah on 2 June to be with his mother, as her niece tries to raise funds back home for her medical bills and flight home.
