A video emerged online showing a group of Singaporean tourists in Thailand unwittingly gatecrashing a wedding.
They went and sat down at what they thought was a street vendor but were mistaken, it turned out to be a wedding party.
The locals were seen gesturing with their hands, and the Singaporeans thought it meant that there was food, with one of them exclaiming “oh got food already”.
An Instagram video from @dilanlau__ was captioned:
“Accidentally crashed a community party in the village thinking it was a street vendor”, as the video was narrated in Thai.
Speaking to AsiaOne, Dilan Lau said that he was on a motorcycle road trip with his friends in Chiang Mai, and they had spotted a low building with tables and chairs outside, thinking it was an eatery by the road.
He said that the locals were very welcoming and had invited them to sit down, and the group still didn’t know that it was a wedding party until they asked for a menu.
They then posted a video of the incident online and a friend then told him that they were possibly at a wedding and not a street vendor.
However, the locals remained hospitable and the group then continued to enjoy their noodles, and they even left the part with a bag of crackers.
The group wanted to pay for the meals but the locals declined, such was their hospitality.
