STALL AT MARSILING RAMADAN BAZAAR SELLING PORK, STOPPED IMMEDIATELY BY ORGANISERS

With Ramadan kicking off and in full flow already, more Ramadan bazaars are opening across the island, with Singaporeans visiting these event places to try out the different types of food available.

However, a netizen visited a Ramadan bazaar in Marsiling and noticed that one of the stalls there was selling “pork sticks”, posting a video of the stall on TikTok.

The netizen captioned her TikTok post: “Call it Bazar Raya but got sell babi, I also confused.”

Netizens were outraged that the bazaar stall was selling non-halal food products, and some questioned the organisers for letting this happen.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Kena write in to the organising committee about this!
  2. OMG THIS AHAHAHAHAH I WAS LIKE WHY GOT BABI
  3. You can’t expect everything to be 100$ halal ain’t it. it’s a business after all.
  4. It’s called bazar raya for a reason
  5. Organisers just wanna sell the booth slots.. didn’t care about the theme of the bazaar. Just call it pasar malam suda.
  6. Whaat? why is the organiser allowing this?

We will endeavour to prevent future recurrence. We would like to thank members of the public for sharing your concerns. We apologise for any inconvenience and concerns caused.

Lastly, we wish to assure all our residents and patrons to the bazaar that we will do our utmost to provide as best as a Ramadan experience as we can, this includes performances during the weekends as well as halal/Muslim-owned and non-halal stalls to cater to all residents.
