TADA DRIVER ALLEGEDLY DROPPED PASSENGER HALF WAY & ENDED RIDE

In the realm of ride-hailing services, convenience and efficiency are often key factors that customers seek. However, a recent incident involving a TADA driver has left one passenger bewildered and questioning the rationale behind the driver’s route choice. The passenger’s routine journey to work took an unexpected turn as the driver refused the customary route, opting instead for a seemingly unnecessary detour that came with an extra cost. This incident sheds light on the complexities of navigating ride-sharing experiences and raises questions about the motivations behind such decisions.

The journey took an even more perplexing turn when the driver unexpectedly requested the passenger to disembark midway through the ride. Complying with the driver’s request, the passenger alighted, only to find that the driver promptly marked the ride as “ended.” This abrupt termination of the ride left the passenger both surprised and puzzled, prompting them to reflect on the motivations and intentions behind the entire sequence of events.

The passenger said:

This TADA driver refused to go to Braddell road via Lorong Chuan (a route I take to work every day) insisting instead on taking the CTE which would cost extra $2 for negligible time savings (5 mins max). He asked me to alight in the middle of my journey, and so I did. Immediately after he marked the ride as “ended”.

Here are what netizens think:

  • As irritating as it is to get charge ERP I know… I help do public service education for ya.. I won’t post direct link to LTA or the respective PHV FAQs… Goggle this “driver can choose route phv”
  • All drivers asking customer to alight must be ban for life, just imagine if young students are ask to alight at dark roads.
  • Service industry – need to be service oriented. And most important, give proper customer service. To end the ride halfway is definitely wrong! Does these drivers given some courses on how to treat customers?
  • Hope LTA revoke his PHV licence.
  • Some driver are already that bad complaint to TADA
  • All these applications are rubbish. They are just creating the platform to give cheap rides to commuters and earn their commission. The drivers pay for the car, insurance and patrol and they work like a contractor to the platform. The only recourse the commuters have is to complain to the platform or take legal action against the platform. LTA has no power to deal with such matters. Their role here is only to license the drivers and platforms to have some control who is allowed to drive and who is allowed to operate the platform. It is unlike before where taxis come under the Public Transport Act where the prices are regulated by the Public Transport Council and the drivers and taxi operators are to conform to their regulations.
