It is reported that many gang members in Taiwan are involved in deceiving Taiwanese to go to Cambodia and end up becoming slaves.
Li Zhenhao, a member of Dongtang Dongxinhui of Zhulian Gang, is also one of them. He was detained by the Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office for deceiving 82 Taiwanese to go to Cambodia profiteering TWD50 Million (S$2.3M). Prosecutors found out that the shareholder behind the group was suspected to be a man named Huang Xuanfeng. He also summoned Mr. Huang to the case the day before yesterday.
Victim’s story
A mother said that in early May this year, her son called her and said, “I will go to Cambodia at the end of May.” She asked her son why he was going, but the son didn’t want to say more. TW$30,000, not only for food and housing, but also a TW$150,000 “bonus” to receive when returning to Taiwan.
His mother was skeptical but her son insisted, “I’m not here to ask your opinion, I’m here to tell you.” She knew It’s not a good thing for my son to go. No matter how he is discouraged, he can’t change it. The son has made up his mind.
“The one who tricked him into going to Cambodia was his son’s ‘eldest brother’. The ‘eldest brother’ was known to him through the gang. This ‘eldest brother’ claimed to be a member of the Bamboo Union Gang, so my child thought of him like a real brother.
Miss Duan said that her son has often told her “Company” East and “Company” West (the company is the gang itself) over the years, “I tried to stop him from contacting the gang, and he also said, ‘The company is different from the gang I think of. ‘, because I am completely inexperienced, in front of the child, he will think that I don’t understand and don’t tell her too much.”
Unexpectedly, her son asked her for help the next day when he arrived in Cambodia, saying that the work was not about repairing the computer room at all, but engaged in fraud.
What was outrageous was that the other party asked his son to re-sign the contract and change the working time to one year. The son expressed that he did not want to. If they did not sign, they would be hit by electric shock bats. They were eventualy forced to sign a “sell contract” with punitive damages. If they broke the contract, they would have to pay 13,000 US dollars.
