Advice for a teacher
Dear teachers, I am feeling terribly overwhelmed ever since school started. My stress levels have gone up immensely and I feel emotionally burnt out.
I’m struggling with drawing a line between work and my personal life.
At times I find myself taking things that has happened in class personally, I start to get upset and angry, feeling offended even when I am back home. It’s truly as if I’m on an emotionally roller coaster the whole week. It’s exhausting.. and there’s still admin work, marking, CCA, departmental work etc.
Once I reach home, I’m extremely tired.. by 10 pm I’m asleep, next day 5 am I’m awake and the crazy day begins. Dear teachers.. any advice?

- Jiayou. Was an ex educator. I feel you. Try to take small breaks n celebrate small success. Don’t blame urself for everything which go wrong. Self care is not selfish but necessary. CNY break is coming. Hang in there!
- Not an educator but i know working in high pressure setting can take a toll on yourself. Celebrate little things and be around positive people. Also find someone with a listening ear who you can download all the frustrations.
- Every job has its difficulties. Being a teacher is tough with a lot to handle. Jiayou!
- I used to feel the same way as you. Until I met my tutors! Now I am not feeling this way but happy everyday and looking forward to lessons!
- I left the service and never felt better.
