Thai Beauty Queen Stripped of Crown After Explicit Videos Surface

A former provincial beauty queen in Thailand has lost her title just one day after being crowned, following the emergence of explicit footage that went viral online. The case has drawn widespread public debate about dignity, forgiveness, and second chances in the entertainment industry.

Suphannee “Baby” Noinonthong, 27, was named Miss Grand Prachuap Khiri Khan 2026 on 20 September. The win secured her spot to represent her province at the Miss Grand Thailand 2026 national competition. However, by the following day, pageant organisers announced her removal after videos circulated showing her in revealing clothing, appearing to perform sexual acts, and smoking an e-cigarette.

In a formal statement, the organisers explained that Baby’s past conduct conflicted with the values and standards required of contestants, making it necessary to terminate her role. The swift dismissal not only shocked supporters but also sparked debate about whether her personal struggles should have been weighed against her achievements.

Past Struggles and Public Apology

Addressing the scandal, Baby admitted to appearing in nude content, but explained she had done so years earlier out of financial desperation while caring for her bedridden mother, who has since passed away. She apologised publicly to both the pageant organisers and her supporters, stressing that her decision had been made under difficult circumstances.

Now an orphan, Baby revealed she has fought hard to reach her current stage in life, often without family support. While she acknowledged that her past choices were mistakes, she also expressed a desire to move forward, improve herself, and rebuild her reputation in the entertainment industry.

Adding to the controversy, Baby claimed her explicit content had been misused by illegal gambling websites without her permission. She has since announced plans to file a police complaint against those who exploited her images.

Divided Public Reaction

The case has polarised public opinion in Thailand. Some netizens sympathised with Baby, urging society to offer compassion and second chances, especially given her financial hardship. Others, however, criticised her for damaging the reputation of the province and the pageant, and questioned why organisers had not conducted stricter background checks.

As Baby seeks to pursue legal action against the exploitation of her videos, the incident has ignited wider discussions about morality, judgment, and redemption in beauty pageants—an industry often seen as holding contestants to higher standards of personal conduct.
