Thai Man Storms Ex-Father-in-Law’s Home, Shoots Him Dead While Trying to Kill Ex-Wife

A shocking murder unfolded in Thailand’s Ayutthaya Province on Sunday morning when a man armed with a gun broke into his ex-father-in-law’s house in an attempt to kill his former wife. During the confrontation, the man opened fire, killing the ex-father-in-law before being shot and seriously injured himself.

Police said the incident happened around 11 a.m. in Village 7 of Bang Pa-in District. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Teerachot, was found lying near a car with gunshot wounds to his chin and body. Inside the house, police discovered the lifeless body of 60-year-old Bancha lying face down in a pool of blood. He had been shot in the chest and stabbed in the neck. A pair of scissors was found nearby, and Bancha was still holding a handgun in his right hand.

At the entrance, investigators found a shoulder bag believed to belong to the suspect. Inside was another handgun, which appeared to have jammed after firing a single round.

Father Killed While Protecting His Daughter from Ex-Son-in-Law

The victim’s daughter, 28-year-old Parinya, told police that Teerachot was her ex-husband. She explained that they had been separated for some time due to his repeated attacks. That morning, he had shown up outside the house yelling for her to come out. Terrified, she locked herself inside.

Moments later, the suspect climbed over the fence and forced his way into the house. He encountered Bancha downstairs, and the two began arguing. Soon after, Parinya heard several gunshots. When she ran downstairs, she found her father lying motionless in a pool of blood.

Victim Had Been Fleeing Domestic Violence Before the Attack

Parinya revealed that she had previously fled to a relative’s house in Roi Et Province to escape her mad husband. However, he managed to track her down even there. Left with no choice, she returned to her father’s home in Ayutthaya to hide, but her ex-husband continued to threaten to kill both her and her family.

Police are now investigating the case as a murder driven by jealousy and revenge. The suspect remains hospitalised under police guard as officers prepare to charge him once he recovers.

This horrifying incident has reignited discussions in Thailand about domestic violence and the dangers faced by women attempting to escape unhealthy relationships.
