On November 13th, according to Thai media reports, a 31-year-old Thai man was found shot dead in his home at around 9 am last Thursday (November 9th).
The mother, aged 57, informed the police that she lived about 2 kilometers away and learned about her son’s death from neighbors, not having detailed information. However, she revealed that her son was addicted to methamphetamine (commonly known as “crazy drug”) and would become violent towards himself during drug-induced episodes. Despite multiple attempts at treatment, her son’s mental condition had deteriorated due to drug abuse.
Surrendered to Police
On the following Saturday (November 11th) at around 2 pm, the mother voluntarily surrendered to the police, confessing to orchestrating the murder of her son. She admitted that the reason for her actions was her inability to endure her son’s violence towards her.
During the planning, she consulted her 65-year-old sister, who, in an effort to assist, hired a 64-year-old hitman for 25,000 baht to go to her son’s home and shoot him. However, after the murder, the mother, her sister, and the hitman all felt remorse and decided to turn themselves in to the police.
The deceased’s ex-wife told reporters that she had a six-year relationship with the deceased, having two children together. However, they divorced last year due to the unbearable domestic violence, similar to what the deceased’s mother experienced. She mentioned that the mother had moved homes several times to escape the son’s violent demands for money, sometimes resulting in physical altercations. Despite feeling sorry for the son’s death, she understands the mother’s actions.
