When her brother arrived at Soi Borommaratchachonnani 12 to collect her, he found the teenager crying and clearly frightened. She told him a man she believed to be a soldier had followed her into a public toilet and raped her, threatening to kill her if she screamed for help.
The girl described the suspect as part of a group of around eight men who appeared to be military personnel, judging by their short haircuts and the ranks they used when addressing one another, such as sergeant and lieutenant. Before the assault, he had asked for her contact details and invited her to his accommodation, but she rejected his advances.

Military Private Identified and Detained
Chana Songkram Police Station Superintendent Niphon Nitikarun confirmed that officers had identified the perpetrator as a private serving in the Thai army. The suspect has been taken into custody by the First Army Area, where he will face disciplinary action under military regulations.
He now faces three serious criminal charges: taking a minor away from her parents or guardians, sexually assaulting a minor, and unlawful detention. These offences carry heavy penalties under Thai law and reflect the strong stance taken on crimes against children.
Addressing claims that police had tried to steer the family towards an out-of-court settlement, Superintendent Niphon stressed that no officer would protect a wrongdoer. He described the case as extremely serious and confirmed that proper legal processes would be followed without exception.
