A 21-year-old university student in Nonthaburi, Thailand, has died after leaping from the fourth floor of Central Westgate mall on 12 September. He was reportedly trying to flee after being caught filming upskirt videos.
According to local reports, the incident unfolded at about 7.40pm when a woman realised the man was using an iPad to secretly record under her skirt. She immediately alerted mall staff, leading to his detention by security officers and police.
During the process of collecting evidence, the student allegedly panicked, broke free, and hurled his bag down to the ground floor before jumping after it. The fall left him with severe head injuries, and although he was rushed to hospital, doctors were unable to save him. Photos from the scene showed authorities covering his body as shocked shoppers looked on.

Eyewitnesses described the moments following the fall as horrifying, with many bystanders screaming and crying. Some said the crowded mall descended into chaos as emergency responders attempted to secure the scene.
Thai media later reported that just before the jump, the man had phoned his mother to say goodbye. According to a TV Channel 7 report, he allegedly admitted that he had been coerced into filming women by members of an online group who had threatened him. This claim has added another troubling dimension to the tragedy, raising concerns over cyberbullying and exploitation.
