
Natrika Shibahara, 29, a wife of a Singaporean businessman was recently murdered in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The incident happened on August 11 at a two-story bungalow which she was staying at.
It was believed that she has separated from her Singaporean husband and she currently stays in Thailand with their child. Her Singaporean husband would send money to her every month and would occasionally visit her and their child.

The suspect was an air-conditioning repairman who had visited the deceased’s house four to five times prior to the incident.
According to the CCTV which was installed in the deceased’s home, the suspect lied that his tools had dropped into the deceased’s home and entered under the pretext of finding his tools. Unexpectedly, as soon as the deceased opened the door, she was threatened with a knife by the suspect.

The CCTV recording showed that the suspect in blue threatened the deceased with a sharp knife which was about 15 cm long and demanded that she hand over cash and other valuables. After that, the suspect took the deceased to her room to find valuable items, but the deceased insisted that there was no cash at home.

The suspect then ordered the deceased to transfer 10,000 baht (approximately SGD 440) into his bank account, and the deceased did what she was told. Unexpectedly, after the she finished the transferring the money, she saw her neighbors passing by her house through the window, so she immediately called for help. It is believed that the suspect panicked and killed the deceased with a knife and slit her throat for fear of being caught. After the incident, the suspect stole the deceased’s car keys and mobile phone from the deceased’s home.
It was the deceased’s child’s teacher that found her body as the teacher brought her child back when the deceased did not pick up her child from school.
