THAILAND BANGKOK PROVINCE UNDER LOCKDOWN, CURFEW STARTS ON MONDAY

Starting from Monday, Bangkok, which encompasses the capital and the five neighbouring provinces of Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon will be under a lockdown

The curfew will last for two weeks from 12 July 2021 till 26 July 2021.

Here are some of the measures that have been taken by the Thai authorities.

  • All food establishments to close by 8pm.
  • Business are encouraged to allow employees to work from home
  • Strict Social distancing measures.
  • Public transport close from 9pm to 3am.
  • Parks close by 9pm.
  • Infection-risk businesses such as salons, spas and massage parlours will not be open.
  • Maximum gatherings of 5 people, except for religious functions.
  • Covenience stores and night markets closed from 8pm to 4am.

This came after Thailand hit record high daily infections and deaths.
