According to a media release, Thailand is finalising their plans to allow long-stay visitors from Europe to enter the country. The decision comes in an effort to save the country’s declining tourism industry.
Thailand’s border has been closed to all foreigners since late march this year to fight the ongoing pandemic. However, the government is now planning to grant visas to foreigners who plan to stay in Thailand for the long term.
However, this group of visitors will be required to go through a series of test and 14 days quarantine to ensure that they are negative of COVID-19 before they are allowed to travel freely within the country.
Meanwhile, the government is looking to finalise the measures that will be put in place to prevent the spread of the virus within the country after the plan is implemented.
