A toddler in China fell down from the 6th floor of a building in eastern China, but was saved when a man below rushed forward to catch the 2-year-old girl in the nick of time.
A video of the incident was shared online by the deputy director of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Information Department, Zhao Lijian.
The man who saved the toddler, 31-year-old Shen Dong, was lauded by netizens for saving the life of the little girl.
Shen was parking his car along the street at the time, when he heard a loud thud from an apartment building nearby, according to Channel NewsAsia.
According to TODAY, he then saw the 2-year-old girl moving on the steel terrace, and he then called the emergency services for help.
The toddler had apparently climbed onto a stool, where she then fell from the 6th floor and landed on the steel terrace, cushioning her fall.
She then started sliding down from the terrace and Shen then rushed forward to catch the girl just in time, stopping her from falling onto the pavement.
The girl suffered injuries to her lungs and legs but is otherwise in stable condition, according to the South China Morning Post.
