Singapore has been banned by Italy from entering the country for leisure from 16 December to 31 January 2022, according to Italy’s embassy in Singapore.
They announced that Singapore and Brunei had been moved into the List E category, where travel into Italy is only allowed to work, study, emergencies and etc – leisure travel is not allowed.
Singapore was previously categorized under List D with lesser restrictions and no reason has been given so far for the relegation to List E.
Only Italian citizens, long-term residents and those from the EU/Schengen area are allowed to travel to Italy for leisure.
However, residents from Singapore are still allowed to transit at Italy’s airports, provided they remain inside the designated areas.
