In light of the Omicron variant situation, the Ministry of Trade and Industry announced on 29 November that travellers on the Singapore and Malaysia land Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) need to take an ART test upon arrival here.
Travellers entering Singapore via the land VTL will need to take one ART before their trip and one ART upon their arrival here.
This new requirement was introduced following global reports of the Omicron variant, which is more contagious with more than 30 mutations.
MTI added that the ART will be done at the two arrival points for the land VTL, namely Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange and Queen Street Terminal.
A spokesperson for MTI said that the new measures will allow us to reduce the spread of the Omicron variant and allow the expansion of the land VTL in a progressive, safe and calibrated way.
