TWO TEENAGERS UNDER INVESTIGATIONS FOR E-COMMERCE SCAMS

According to the Police media release, they are investigating two teenagers for their suspected involvement in a series of e-Commerce scams.

Just over a month ago, the Police received several reports from victims of the alleged scam. The duo allegedly posted the sale of Nintendo Switch online and the victims were told to provide a deposit of $232.00 in order to secure the purhase.

However, after paying the money the seller would go missing in action and long gone with the money.

Through investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the sellers, who are currently assisting with police investigations pertaining to their involvement in these cases.

To prevent scams, please purchase your items from reputable sellers. If the price is too good to be true it probably is.

Investigations are ongoing. The offence of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
