Two workers have died after a work platform carrying them fell into the sea during stevedoring operations at Tuas Port on Sep. 22.
The incident happened at around 8.40am, according to PSA Singapore, which confirmed that two workers fell into the water while carrying out cargo-handling work.
Stevedoring refers to the loading and unloading of cargo from ships, which can involve the use of cranes, lifting equipment and work platforms.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to a work-related incident at sea off Tuas Port at around 9.15am.
One of the workers, a 44-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
The second worker, aged 33, was found unconscious and taken to hospital. He subsequently died.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) later provided further details about the incident, stating that the two men had been lifted in a work platform as part of the stevedoring operation.
The work platform reportedly became dislodged from the crane and fell into the sea.
MOM investigating workplace incident
MOM said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Based on preliminary investigations by police, there is currently no indication that foul play was involved.
PSA Singapore said it is working closely with the relevant authorities as investigations continue.
The company also said it is providing support to the families of the two workers following the incident.
MOM reminds employers about lifting equipment safety
MOM highlighted the importance of ensuring that lifting equipment and associated gear are properly maintained and inspected before being used, particularly when the equipment is intended to lift people.
The ministry also reminded equipment operators that operating instructions must be followed strictly.
The incident comes as authorities continue to emphasise workplace safety, particularly for jobs involving lifting operations and heavy machinery.
Investigations will determine the circumstances that led to the work platform becoming detached from the crane and falling into the sea.
