The comments came after a heated debate in parliament which lasted 10 hours over Singapore’s Foreign Talent Policy which saw three ministers rebutting PSP’s statement on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Criticisms about Leong Mun Wai were picked up over live microphone notably a comment made about him which said “He’s illiterate, Seriously how did he get into RI? Must have been a lousy school.”

It was unclear as to who made the statements at first but Minister Vivian Balakrishnan has since came out to apologise over the comments.

PSP’s Central Executive Committee has also came out to say that it is disappointing to “hear a cabinet minister say what he said.”
