VOGUE SG APOLOGISES FOR BREACHING SAFE DISTANCING LAPSES

According to a media release, Vogue Singapore has apologised for their lapse in ensuring that the circuit breaker measures are in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The apology came after a series of Instagram stories shared by an employee was posted on FB by a netizen. From the stories, at least 9 vogue’s staff were seen gathering together for office tour and unboxing of newly issued apple products.

All staff were seen with a mask on but safe distancing was not observed. Editor-in-chief of Vogue Singapore Norman Tan has apologised for the lapse in judgment the following day.

According to him, safeguard measures such as temperature taking, safe distancing were implemented in the office. However, staff were excited to see each other after a long time and decided to gather for photo taking.

According to the Ministry of Manpower:

“Employers must ensure that employees do not socialise or congregate in groups at the workplace, including during meals or breaks.

Where physical interaction cannot be avoided, precautions should be taken to ensure clear physical spacing of at least one metre between persons at all times.”

3 offices were previously forced to stop operation as they failed to implement safety measures to ensure that their employee’s safety is in check.
