A woman shared how she was allegedly fired from her job by her company for being pregnant.
Here is the story:
“Thank you for reading such a lengthy post.
Being pregnant is already not easy however pregnancy shouldn’t hinder us mothers from working. Today I received a phone call from my workplace which is a tuition Centre regards to the termination of my work. The reason? HR said due to my pregnancy and safety. In the first place , you shouldn’t had agreed to hire me when you knew of my pregnancy.
Such an absurd and cruel thing to do.
I hope to warn others whom are pregnant that is looking for a job to be aware of this kind of employer.
FYI , I am fully vaccinated !
*Replies to Human resource from *company name withheld* *
– Such a wicked liar you are and now you are gaslighting me. Why are you hiding by using a Facebook profile that was just joined today (11jan2022)
1) On interview day , I was being considerate for informing earlier I was going to be late due to diarrhea however I came on the dot for interview. I was not late. But since it’s the HR words against mine, if I was really late and dissatisfactory towards my performance, you wouldn’t offer my a position there.
2) For employment, unfortunately I did not save the contract and she deleted away, no maternity leave was stated, there was no benefits under the the contract for service, therefore I asked nicely if she would be able to reconsider not giving CPF contribution or at least give me maternity leave since the pay is only $9 per hour and per month I was only given working 80 hours. 3a) For everything that was mentioned by Ms *name withheld*, all my working shifts starts at 330pm.
On 4th January I had a glucose blood test and was unwell during the test , thus letting the Centre manager know in the morning that I wouldn’t be able to start working on my first day.
3b) 2 days before initial start date, my previous employer texted me and asked for my return.
Therefore being responsible, I decided to let *company name withheld* know of it.
3c) I had a swollen eye on 8th January past midnight and i informed Centre manager in case my eye got worse, eventually I made it to work.
4) termination letter did not state any reason.
On phone conversation, I was only given 2 choices, to serve notice or to leave immediately.

Dear Netizens, there’s only so much I can explain. It is my own fault for being too honest and diplomatic. Since HR of *company name withheld* does not agree to settle this matter amicably, I would like the matter to rest as I am in my late pregnancy and would not want myself to be affected by all the twisted allegations made against me that HR has brought up.
My purpose of posting the first half is to spread awareness of pregnancy employment discrimination. Because it has happened to me, I hope everyone else does not go through what I had went through.”
