A woman involved in a highly publicised altercation at a massage parlour in People’s Park Complex has claimed that the dispute stemmed from a romantic relationship with a masseur who allegedly got her pregnant before ending their relationship.
The incident took place at Beijing Royal Massage Parlour, located within People’s Park Complex, and resulted in two people being taken to hospital following a violent confrontation.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), emergency services were alerted to an incident at 1 Park Road on July 2 at around 2:30pm. Police have also confirmed that a report was lodged.
Woman Says Relationship Began After Regular Massage Visits
Speaking to Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News, the woman, identified only as Wang (transliterated name), said she first visited the massage parlour in early May and became a regular customer.
She claimed that a male masseur, referred to as Ah Feng, eventually became her preferred therapist. Over time, the pair reportedly developed a closer relationship and began dating in mid-May.
According to Wang, the relationship progressed quickly and the couple allegedly had sexual relations on multiple occasions. She claimed she frequently paid for their outings, including meals and hotel stays.
Wang further alleged that she spent around S$400 on dates and saw Ah Feng several times each week.
Pregnancy Discovery Allegedly Led To Break-Up
The woman said she began experiencing symptoms that made her suspect she was pregnant.
After seeking medical attention, she claimed doctors confirmed her pregnancy on July 1. A referral letter reportedly stated that a preliminary diagnosis indicated pregnancy and that further prenatal examinations were required.
However, Wang alleged that after informing Ah Feng about the pregnancy, he immediately ended the relationship.
She claimed he dismissed her concerns and told her not to use the child as a way to pressure him.
The sudden breakdown of the relationship reportedly left Wang seeking answers, prompting her to visit the massage parlour the following day.
Dispute Escalated Into Physical Confrontation
Wang said she initially returned to the massage parlour on July 2 to retrieve personal belongings, including a house key and skincare products she claimed had been left with Ah Feng.
She alleged that he told her the items had been lost, sparking an argument that required police intervention.
Although she left after officers mediated the dispute, Wang said she later returned with a female friend because she still wanted to discuss matters relating to the pregnancy.
According to her account, Ah Feng allegedly refused to meet her, and tensions escalated after she attempted to remain at the premises.
A video circulating online showed two women engaged in a struggle with a man inside the establishment.
Wang claimed the argument quickly turned physical, with pushing and shoving eventually leading to a fight.
Woman Claims She Suffered Miscarriage After Assault
The woman alleged that during the confrontation, she was repeatedly struck in the head and abdomen, choked, and pinned to the ground.
She claimed the injuries caused her to briefly lose consciousness before she contacted police.
Following the incident, Wang was taken to hospital, where she later learned she had suffered a miscarriage.
She alleged that the pregnancy loss was a direct result of the injuries sustained during the fight.
According to Wang, doctors advised her to remain under observation, but she chose to leave the hospital and is expected to attend a follow-up appointment.
Claims Of S$10,000 Spent During Relationship
Wang also alleged that she spent approximately S$10,000 over the course of the two-month relationship.
She claimed she paid for nearly all expenses and alleged that the masseur requested S$520 each time they engaged in sexual activity.
According to Wang, she viewed the arrangement as part of a genuine romantic relationship, while she now believes the man may have seen her primarily as a customer.
Friend Also Injured During Incident
Wang’s friend, identified as Chen, was also reportedly injured during the confrontation.
Chen told Shin Min that she had accompanied Wang to the massage parlour and did not expect the situation to become violent.
She claimed she repeatedly informed those involved that Wang was pregnant and attempted to intervene when the fight broke out.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing. The allegations made by Wang have not been independently verified, and no charges relating to her claims have been announced at the time of writing.
