A video emerged online showing a woman cleaning her carpet on the balcony and smacking the dirt off and into the downstair’s neighbours’ balcony.
According to the netizen who posted the video, the incident purportedly happened at Block 522 of The Miltonia Residences Condo.
The woman was seen trying to get the dirt and grime off of the carpet by holding and hitting it over the balcony of her home.
She was then seen using her hand to pick the dirt that was stuck inside the carpet, and throwing the dirt down from her balcony.
Potential penalties
Littering is an offence in Singapore and is defined as dropping, placing or throwing any article or t hing in a public place except a rubbish bin.
Persons caught littering face a fine of up to $2,000 for the first offence as well as the possibility of Corrective Work Order.
