WOMAN GETS LOCKED IN BUS LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT, M’SIA REALLY BOLEH

A harrowing ordeal unfolded for a 20-year-old woman in Malaysia when she became trapped in the luggage compartment of a coach while retrieving her belongings. The incident, which took place on June 25, has sparked widespread concern and outrage.

The woman, who goes by the username “Little Fairy” on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, shared her terrifying experience online. She had been traveling alone from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru on a bus operated by a Malaysian transport company. When she arrived at her destination around 5:50 pm, she got off the bus to collect her suitcase, which had been pushed far inside the luggage compartment.

As she crawled inside to retrieve her luggage, the door suddenly closed behind her, leaving her trapped and helpless. Despite her frantic attempts to attract attention by banging on the door, her cries for help went unheard. The woman was left feeling frightened and desperate, with no one coming to her aid.

In a desperate bid to escape, she contacted the bus operator using a phone number provided in a morning message confirming her booking. However, her initial call was met with confusion, and the person on the line hung up on her. A subsequent text message was left unread, leaving her feeling increasingly anxious and disoriented.

As the minutes ticked by, the woman began to feel breathless and dizzy, fearing that she might faint and not wake up. She made another call to the bus operator, and this time, a woman answered. However, instead of offering assistance, the woman was rude and dismissive, asking her why she was in the compartment.

It wasn’t until 6:06 pm, over 10 minutes after her first call, that the bus finally pulled over, and the woman was able to emerge from the luggage compartment. The people waiting for the bus were left stunned by her sudden appearance, and the bus driver’s nonchalant response – he claimed he thought she had already left – only added to her distress.

The bus operator has since apologized for the incident, citing heavy rain as the reason the driver failed to see the woman retrieving her luggage. The company has promised to take necessary action against the driver and staff involved, but the woman’s ordeal has raised serious questions about the safety and accountability of public transportation in Malaysia.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and attention to detail in ensuring the safety of passengers. As the woman so eloquently put it, “I hope nobody else will have to go through such a frightening experience.”
