According to an article by CNA, a woman who is a married mother was recently sentenced (2 Feb) to 10 weeks jail because she had installed a camcorder in the toilet so that her lover could watch her daughter in the shower.
The 48 year old woman and her 50 year old lover, who is her business partner, were having an affair at the time of the incident.
The 50 year old lover was also given 10 weeks of imprisonment, for making the woman install the camcorder.
The identities of the couple and the woman’s daughter were all not revealed due to a gag order.
How they met and what happened
The couple met in 2014 at a retail shop owned by the man.
She was his employee.
She left the job in 2016 but they continued to keep in touch and it sparked an affair.
The couple then started an online business involving ceiling fans and lights in 2020, making them not only lovers but also partners in business.
Some time in 2021 May, the man bought a mini camcorder on e-commerce platform, Shopee, with the intention to video the woman’s daughter in the shower.
He handed the camcorder over to the woman and instructed her to install it, even though they knew that her daughter was against it.
While the woman was fixing up the camcorder in the kitchen facing the shower area, her daughter caught her in the act.
She then went to retrieve the footage from the camcorder to see what her mother was up to, but found no explicit footage inside the camcorder with only footage of her mother installing it inside the camcorder.
Eventually, the camcorder was thrown away.
Subsequently, the man apologised to the girl and her family.
Claims incident was due to banter in their relationship
The man’s defense lawyer claimed that because of the nature of the relationship between the man and the woman where there were a lot of ‘teasing’ and also banter ongoing, the man was tempted and ‘turned on’ by the woman and claimed that the woman used her daughter’s good looks to ask him to do what he did.
The woman on the other hand, hope that her daughter would not be affected by the case and claimed that she had already sought forgiveness from her daughter and she had been forgiven by her.
