A video emerged online showing a woman pushing a baby stroller and jaywalking across a rather busy road and her baby stroller ended up being hit by a car that didn’t see her.
The incident happened at Bukit Batok East Avenue 4 on 3 August at about 5.35pm.
The camcar was seen in the video driving on the left lane, as the cars on the right lane were queueing up to turn right.
The jaywalking woman pushing a yellow stroller, then suddenly emerged from among the cars, catching the camcar driver off guard.
The camcar then honked at her but it was too late, before the car hit the woman’s stroller.
Jaywalking is an offence and jaywalkers can be fined S$20 on the spot.
They can also be charged and fined up to S$1,000, or jailed up to three months.
Repeat offenders may be fined up to S$2,000 or jailed up to six months.
