Woman’s Body Found Hidden Inside Suitcase In Malaysia Apartment, Male Housemate Missing

A horrifying discovery was made at an apartment in Malaysia after a landlord investigating a persistent foul smell allegedly found a woman’s body concealed inside a suitcase.

The grim find occurred on June 28 at a rented unit in Kajang, where residents had reportedly been complaining about an unbearable stench for days. Some neighbours were said to have covered the ventilation openings of their homes in an attempt to keep the odour out.

Police have since launched a murder investigation and are searching for a man who had reportedly been living with the victim.

Landlord Investigates Strong Odour

According to local media reports, the landlord visited the third-floor apartment after repeated attempts to contact the tenants went unanswered.

Upon entering the unit, he discovered the home in a filthy state, with sewage stains visible on the floor and a strong smell throughout the premises.

While inspecting the living room, he noticed a large cardboard box hidden beneath a pile of clothes and fabric. A foul-smelling liquid was reportedly leaking from the box, raising immediate suspicion.

Inside the cardboard box was a suitcase that appeared unusually heavy and swollen. Unable to properly open it due to its condition, the landlord contacted the authorities.

Police officers and forensic personnel later arrived at the scene and confirmed the presence of a body inside the luggage.

Victim Believed To Be Foreign Woman

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the victim’s body was reportedly difficult to identify.

However, the landlord believes the deceased may be a Nepalese woman in her 30s who had rented the apartment approximately three months ago.

She had allegedly been living with a man who claimed to be her husband when they first rented the property.

The landlord said communication with the pair was limited because of language barriers, preventing him from learning much about their background.

He described the male tenant as having blonde hair and visible tattoos.

According to the landlord, rental payments from the couple had been irregular, with repeated requests for payment extensions before rent eventually stopped altogether.

Since the discovery, attempts to contact the man have reportedly been unsuccessful, with calls going unanswered.

Neighbours Left Shocked

Residents living nearby expressed shock over the incident, saying the area had generally been peaceful with no history of major crimes.

Several neighbours said they rarely interacted with the couple, who largely kept to themselves and had little contact with other residents.

One resident told local media that the pair would come and go without socialising, making them largely unknown within the community.

Investigators are also examining CCTV footage from the area, although it remains unclear whether the cameras were functioning at the time of the incident.

Murder Investigation Underway

Kajang police confirmed receiving a report about the discovery on the evening of June 28 and immediately dispatched officers to secure the scene.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of Malaysia’s Penal Code for murder.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s official identity and are continuing efforts to locate the missing male occupant, who may be able to assist with investigations.

Police are urging anyone with information relating to the case to come forward as investigations continue.
