Context
Raeesah Khan had claimed in Parliament on 3 August earlier this year that she accompanied a rape survivor to make a police report and later admitted on 1 November that she was not present with the woman at the time, and that she had only heard the victim share about it in a support group.
An official complaint against Khan was then lodged by Leader of The House Indranee Rajah, and the matter was then referred to the Committee of Privileges.
Chief of the Workers’ Party Pritam Singh then released a statement that Khan should not have shared an account that contained untruths in the house.
