28-year-old Mediacorp actor Edwin Goh, becomes the latest actor to be convicted of drink-driving, after pleading guilty to one charge of drink driving and being fined $6,500 on Thursday and disqualified from driving for 3 years.
He follows in the footsteps of another now-former Mediacorp actor Shane Pow, who was also convicted of drink driving last year.
What happened?
On 6 September, Goh went to a restaurant in the vicinity of Golden Mile for dinner before heading to a bar to have some drinks, according to Channel NewsAsia.
He then left for his home the next day and was stopped along Aljunied Road at about 2.30am, where he was reeking of alcohol and subsequently arrested.
He was found to have 81 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, which is twice the legal limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
Goh asked for leniency during his mitigation and said that he had reflected on his mistake, and he has since paid the fine.
A spokesperson for Mediacorp said that they do not tolerate any behaviour that’s against the law, and they added that they have spoken to Goh and understood that the incident took place last month.
They added that Goh has “deeply regretted” his actions and would like to apologise for his mistakes, as well as assure everyone that it won’t happen again.
