
On 22 January 2021, ICA officers from Tuas Checkpoint conducted a routine check on a Malaysia registered lorry.

During the check, the officers discovered 1,530 cartons and 560 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes hidden in the lorry. The duty-unpaid cigarettes were hidden in the styrofoam boxes which are used to store seafood.
This case is then referred to the Singapore Customs for further investigations.
