
A file from AirDrop was sent to a Taiwanese woman who took the train in Taipei just a few days back. It was a photograph of a man holding his ‘ku ku jiao’. After she discovered what the file was. She looked up, and right before she managed to see the face of the bird man he ran quickly from the scene and got out of the train.
The man was captured on the train’s CCTV
He was unable to escape the law. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the police were able to locate the man by the surname of Chen which lead to his arrest.
The Taiwan police also noticed that similar cases are occurring more often in recent years. They believe this to be a new type of criminal act and have named this crime “sexual harassment digital wireless anonymous transmission graphic information.”
AirDrop is used by suspects to send explicit files in crowds
Police also confirmed that AirDrop could transmit data at a distance of nine meters if two iPhones have the function enabled. If you don’t want to be harassed with information, set AirDrop as “contact only” on your mobile phone.
