Jessica Mollie Edgill, a 34-years-old British national, pleaded guilty to causing hurt by a negligent act.
She was given a fine of $1,500 on 7 December, as well as being ordered to pay another $1,500 to the victim as compensation.
Edgill had failed to stop at a traffic light that had turned amber and crashed into Madam Lynette Tan, 56-years-old.
What happened?
On 20 October at around 1pm, Edwiull was cycling along Upper Pickering Street in Chinatown and entered the junction of Havelock Road and New Bridge Road.
The traffic light had turned amber and she continued cycling through, just as the victim was crossing the road because the pedestrian traffic light had turned green.
Edgill then crashed into the victim, who was conveyed to SGH in an ambulance and suffered deep cuts on her knee and abrasions on her elbow.
The victim was hospitalized for 3 days after going through surgery, before being given 33 days of hospitalization leave.
