SUV HITS ANOTHER CAR WHILE REVERSING, THEN QUICKLY FLEES THE SCENE

A video emerged online showing an SUV hitting another car while reversing into a parking lot, before fleeing the scene.

The video starts off with with the camcar waiting for the SUV to finish reversing into a parking lot at a multistorey carpark.

The SUV then hits a black car beside the parking lot while reversing, and the driver then gave up on reversing into the lot.

The driver then drove away from the scene to look for another lot at an upper floor instead.

Potential penalties

It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.
