A fire broke out last night (16 February) at East Coast Park and according to a netizen on Reddit, there was also allegedly explosions heard.
The Reddit user, u/Far-Conversation-621, shared how he heard explosions coming from the vicinity of a carpark and that he thinks a car had exploded.
He then shared a photo that he took from his balcony. (see end of the post)
A netizen, Cheryl Yi, also shared videos of the incident that she captured, with bright reddish flames being seen burning fiercely, with thick smoke billowing from the inferno.
A few police vehicles were also seen present at the scene in the videos.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spoke to Mothership and said that they were alerted to a fire that broke out at 1110 East Coast Parkway last night, at 9.30pm.
According to the SCDF, the fire had apparently involved the contents of a shed, and it was extinguished with the use of a foam jet.
No injuries were reported from the incident and at the time of writing, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
