COUPLE SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED BUT GETS COVID INSTEAD ON WEDDING DAY

25-year-old Joyce Yap was supposed to get married on 20 February, but she spent it alone inside her room as she posted a video on TikTok asking “Where’s my groom?”

Turns out, both Joyce and her fiance JJ had tested positive for Covid-19, with her fiance testing positive on Valentine’s Day and herself 3 days after.

She posted another TikTok video earlier explaining how her fiance had felt a little bit unwell after they had collected their marriage certificate on 14 February, and she then gave him an ART kit to test himself for “fun”.

His results then came back positive and she knew that she would have it as well since they shared food together, which she did.

The couple ended up having to postpone their wedding, but Joyce said that she was pretty calm as she knew that nothing could be done except to postpone or cancel it.

She also had to talk to the wedding vendors, as well as inform their family and friends about the unplanned change of plans.

She added that the postponement was out of their planned budget but it was still within their means, as the only additional cost was paid to the hotel where they were supposed to be holding their wedding banquet.

Joyce also thought about canceling the wedding but her fiance wanted to go through with it anyway because it was a valuable memory.

They will be getting married on 20 March instead, about a month after their planned wedding.
