Speaking to the BBC, mechanical engineering professor of the university Mary Joy Mandane-Ortiz, says that she was looking for “fun ways” to make sure her classes were honest and her students had integrity.

She said that she initially wanted her students to create a simple “anti cheating hat” out of paper, but they went above and beyond with their creativity.

She sad that the idea had been “really effective” and it was implemented during the school’s mid term examinations.

Mandane-Ortiz said that she got the idea from Thailand some years prior, and was inspired by them when she implemented it in her classes.

Motivated by the strict exam conditions, her students studied even harder and they performed better this year for this exams.

Nobody was caught cheating and most of them finished their papers early.
