MAN SIGNS FOR STARHUB’S NO-CONTRACT PLAN, GETS CONFIRMATION EMAIL FOR 12-MONTH CONTRACT

Hello

About 3 weeks ago, on the Starhub website, I subscribed to Sports+ on a no-contract plan for $34.99 (as seen on my screenshot). After I subscribed to it, I received a confirmation email from Starhub that I had subscribed to the 12 month contract plan instead. I immediately emailed and called Starhub about this issue, and sent them the screenshot from the website which shows “$34.99 no contract plan”.

Apparently, according to the Starhub customer agents who I spoke with on call, the no-contract plan is supposed to be $44.99 and $34.99 is for the 12 months contract plan.

After 3 weeks of Starhub investigating, they told me today saying that I am on 12 months contract plan and not on no-contract plan and that I have to pay early termination charges if I wish to terminate. I did tell them why should I pay these charges when the website clearly showed “$34.99: no contract plan” and I have also emailed the screenshots.

They said they will escalate this to the Starhub management and get back to me. I don’t understand why is this taking so much time? If Starhub really forces me to pay, what should I do, what options can I consider? Will appreciate advice of our group members here. Thanks
