Following the tragic landslide at a Genting Highlands campsite that claimed the lives of at least 21 people, more revelations have since emerged about the operators of the campsite
It has since been revealed that the operators of the landslide didn’t have a license for camping activities, only for organic farm operations, according to The Star.
The Malaysian Minister for Local Government Development, Nga Kor Ming, said that they will be taking stern action against the operators if they are found guilty.
Nga told reporters at the scene of the tragedy that the operators of Father’s Organic Farm, didn’t have a valid license for camping activities.
He revealed that the authorities checked with the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council and found that they only had a license to run an organic farm.
The operator had allegedly started running the campsite illegally in 2020, despite applying to start organic farming activities in 2019.
