On Christmas Eve, ICA officers at Woodlands Checkpoint foiled an attempt to smuggle e-vaporisers and accessories via a Singapore-registered car driven by a female Singaporean. There were three other passengers aged between 2 years old to 11 years old on board.

Notwithstanding the high traffic volume, ICA officers directed the car for checks and uncovered black and orange plastic bags concealed under the driver seat, passenger seats and car boot respectively. A total of 54 e-vaporisers and 16 accessories were found.

The case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigations.
