The woman, who is in her 20s, had told her family that she was going to bake cake with her friends but instead flew to China to meet her 22-year-old boyfriend, whom she met while playing the mobile game, Honor of Kings. The woman’s sudden disappearance caused her family to grow anxious, and they reported her missing to the police.

The woman’s sister stated that her sister and her online boyfriend only spent a short time together before she returned to Malaysia. Although the sister acknowledged that her boyfriend was not a bad person, she criticized him for encouraging her sister to run away from home.

The sister also explained that her sister had turned on international roaming but not her mobile phone, which is why her family could not reach her. It was only after the woman saw news reports of her disappearance that she realized the distress she had caused her family.

This incident highlights the importance of open communication and transparency with family members, especially when traveling abroad. While online relationships can be exciting and meaningful, it is crucial to prioritize the safety and well-being of oneself and loved ones.
