A 30-year-old man was discovered deceased inside a shipping container at an industrial building in Mandai Foodlink on May 22, as reported by Shin Min Daily News. The man’s employer found his body, and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) classified the case as an unnatural death, with no suspicion of foul play.
On May 22, at approximately 11:35 am, the SPF received a report of an unnatural death at 5 Mandai Link. Upon arrival, police officers found the man lying motionless inside a container and pronounced him dead at the scene. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic confirmed the death.
According to preliminary police investigations, there is no suspicion of foul play. However, the investigations are ongoing.
The deceased was an employee of a business that sold alcoholic products, operated by a middle-aged couple. He had been working there for about a year. A worker from an adjacent unit reported that they did not notice any unusual odors in the past few days, making the discovery all the more shocking.
The man’s employer, who appeared red-eyed and somber, was also at the scene, speaking with the police. It is understood that he had been unable to contact his employee for several days. When he finally opened the container, he was taken aback to find the man’s body inside, which had already decomposed and emitted a powerful stench.
