Dramatic Foot Chase at Aljunied MRT Station Caught on Camera
A thrilling video of police officers chasing a suspect at Aljunied MRT station in Singapore has gone viral on social media. The footage, uploaded to TikTok in July 2024, shows a man dressed in a white T-shirt desperately trying to evade two police officers.
The suspect can be seen running hastily, occasionally looking back to check on the officers’ pursuit. Despite one of the officers taking a tumble during the chase, they quickly got back up and continued the pursuit. The suspect’s cap even fell off his head at one point, but he didn’t let that slow him down.
As the chase intensified, a third police officer joined the pursuit, prompting the suspect to climb over a railing to escape. Undeterred, one of the officers followed suit, while the other two stopped to regroup.
Although the TikTok video has since been removed, the Singapore Police Force has confirmed that the incident took place on June 8, 2024, at around 5:20 pm. According to the police, officers were patrolling the area when they noticed a man behaving suspiciously. When they approached him, he fled on foot, leaving behind a styrofoam box.
Upon investigation, the police found items believed to be duty-unpaid cigarettes and unregistered health products in the discarded box. The case has been referred to the Singapore Customs and Health Sciences Authority for further action.
