A 19-year-old girl reportedly died after allegedly falling at the shopping mall inside Taipei 101 on the morning of May 25.
According to Taiwanese media reports, authorities were alerted to the incident at about 10:49am local time after the teenager was found on the second floor of the mall. Emergency responders rushed to the scene shortly after receiving the report.
When paramedics arrived, the girl was reportedly unconscious and showed no signs of life. She was subsequently conveyed to Taipei Medical University Hospital for emergency treatment.
Despite efforts by medical staff, she was pronounced dead at around 11am due to severe injuries sustained in the fall.
Police Investigating Identity And Circumstances
Local police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the girl’s identity and the exact location from which she allegedly fell.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have not yet released further details about the case.
The shopping mall occupies several floors within Taipei 101, one of Taiwan’s most iconic landmarks and a major tourist attraction visited by both locals and overseas travellers each year.
Following the incident, videos and photos circulating online showed emergency personnel cordoning off parts of the area while investigations were carried out.

Standing at over 500 metres tall, Taipei 101 was once the tallest building in the world and remains one of Taiwan’s most recognisable landmarks.
The integrated complex features offices, luxury retail outlets, restaurants and observation decks that attract millions of visitors annually.
Authorities have yet to confirm if foul play is suspected. More updates are expected as investigations continue.
