Singaporeans are no strangers to queuing for a good deal, but a fruit stall in Tampines has taken things to another level by giving away hundreds of kilograms of free durians every single day.
Residents have been turning up in large numbers after a Tampines durian stall announced a daily giveaway that will run until August 2026, with some people reportedly arriving one to two hours before distribution begins.
The initiative has quickly gone viral online, with videos showing long lines of eager durian lovers waiting patiently with bags in hand.

The giveaway is organised by Durian Ninja, located at Block 827 Tampines Street 81.
According to the stall owners, the campaign began on June 19 and is intended to encourage younger generations to develop an interest in durians while also giving back to the community.
One of the owners, 25-year-old Kee Eng Chai, shared that they were pleased to see more young adults joining the queue.
He noted that while elderly residents still make up more than half of those lining up daily, the increasing number of younger Singaporeans participating is exactly what they had hoped to achieve.
The business also wanted to create an activity that could benefit everyone, regardless of age or financial situation.
Up To 1,000kg Of Durians Distributed Every Day
The stall reportedly gives away between 800kg and 1,000kg of durians daily.
Most of the fruits are kampung varieties sourced from Bentong, Pahang, and Muar, Johor, taking advantage of the current peak durian season.
To support the massive giveaway, two to three lorries arrive each day to deliver fresh supplies.
Initially, the giveaway started at 4pm. However, organisers shifted the timing to 6pm after facing transportation delays and unloading challenges.
The owners explained that delivery schedules can vary, and moving the collection time later into the evening helps reduce waiting times for visitors.
Per-Person Limit Reduced To Ensure Fair Distribution
At the start of the campaign, each visitor could collect up to three durians.
However, due to overwhelming demand and growing queues, the limit has since been reduced to two durians per person to ensure more people have an opportunity to benefit.
Videos circulating online show attendees standing beside large baskets filled with durians while carrying plastic bags provided by the stall.
The giveaway is expected to continue until sometime in August, provided supplies remain stable throughout the durian season.
With free durians on offer every evening, it is perhaps no surprise that many Singaporeans are willing to queue early for a chance to bring home the king of fruits.
For now, Tampines appears to have become one of Singapore’s hottest destinations for durian lovers.
