The shocking case unfolded after the teenager’s friends reported her missing when they were unable to contact her for more than 24 hours. Police launched an urgent investigation, reviewing CCTV footage to retrace her final movements.

Authorities later tracked down the Australian suspect at Bangkok’s main international airport as he allegedly attempted to leave the country.

CCTV Footage Helps Police Trace Missing Teen’s Last Movements

Investigators reviewing surveillance footage found images showing the teenager entering a condominium with a foreign man during the early hours of 25 June.

According to police, the pair were seen walking hand-in-hand into the residential building at approximately 3.34am. However, footage did not show the teenager leaving the premises afterwards.

Further CCTV recordings captured the man leaving the condominium the following evening while dragging a large suitcase. He reportedly loaded the luggage onto a motorcycle before travelling away from the area.

Police continued tracing his route through multiple cameras. When the suspect later reappeared on surveillance footage without the suitcase, officers became suspicious and intensified their investigation.

A subsequent search of the condominium unit reportedly revealed signs of a violent struggle.

Suspect Detained At Airport Before Departure

As investigators gathered evidence, police moved quickly to locate the foreign national.

The Australian man was eventually found at Suvarnabhumi Airport on the evening of 26 June while allegedly attempting to purchase a flight ticket back to Australia.

Authorities noted that the suspect had visible scratch marks on his neck and arms, injuries that investigators believe may have been sustained during a confrontation.

Following his detention, police continued searching for the missing teenager.

Several hours later, officers discovered a discarded suitcase concealed in tall grass beside railway tracks approximately four kilometres from the condominium where the pair had been seen together.

Inside the luggage, investigators found the body of the 17-year-old victim.

Police said the teenager was found unclothed and had suffered severe facial injuries.

Her body has since been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The discovery has sparked widespread public concern in Thailand, with many closely following developments in the investigation.

Law enforcement officials have indicated that forensic evidence and autopsy findings will play a key role in determining the sequence of events leading up to the teenager’s death.

Australian Man Claims Argument Escalated Into Violence

During questioning, the suspect allegedly told investigators that he had arranged to meet the teenager and agreed to pay her 1,000 Thai baht (approximately S$39).

According to his statement, an argument broke out after they arrived at the condominium.

The man claimed the teenager later informed him that she was menstruating, prompting him to attempt to renegotiate the agreed payment amount. He allegedly offered 500 baht instead, which he said angered the teenager.

The suspect further alleged that the argument escalated and that the teenager grabbed a knife while demanding additional money.

He claimed the confrontation eventually turned violent and resulted in her death, insisting that he did not intend to kill her.

Thai police have not publicly confirmed the accuracy of the suspect’s account and investigations remain ongoing. Authorities are expected to rely on forensic evidence, witness statements and autopsy results as they continue building their case.
