I’ve been tracking some super fishy behavior for months, and now the dots are connecting. At home, this man guards his phone like it’s a state secret. Going to the toilet? Phone goes with him. Showering? Phone is face-down on the sink. But the slip-up happened last week. A bank SMS popped up on his screen while it was on the kitchen island. It was a DBS notification for a transaction via PromptPay. For those who don’t know, that’s literally the Thailand version of PayNow. Why on earth is a Singaporean husband PayNowing people in Thailand from his couch in Ang Mo Kio? (At first I also don’t know what is PromptPay until I Google it)
Then there’s his “work trips.” This man travels to Thailand 3 to 4 times a year. Last year, he claimed he was going to a remote “kampong area” for business and said there would be zero reception for days. Now I’m suspecting the only thing in that kampong is a second wife and maybe a kid.
The biggest red flag? The gaslighting. A few times he told me he was going for a quick weekend getaway with his bros to Batam to play golf and relax. But recently, I managed to sneak a look at his passport while he was asleep. Guess what? Zero Indonesia stamps. Only Thailand immigration stamps. He literally lied about the entire country he was visiting. Why go through all the trouble to cover up a trip to Thailand unless you are hiding something massive?
I am so sick of the lies and the anxiety is killing me. I cannot just confront him because he will definitely find some cock-and-bull story to smoke me, delete all the evidence, and lock his phone even tighter. I need hard, undeniable proof before I call a divorce lawyer.
Is there a sure-fire way to catch him red-handed? Do I hire a private investigator (PI) in Singapore to track him the next time he “goes Batam,” or is it better to find a PI based in Bangkok/Phuket directly? Also, can I request bank statements or check his CPF/nomination details to see if he’s secretly sending fixed allowance overseas? Please help a sister out, what should my next move be?
